Think fictional characters like Anakin Skywalker or Matrix or real life figure like Lebron James
and no this question is not an attack on lebron james or the character of Anakin Skywalker, its just a question dont get to emotional over it

Anakin was designed to be a villain. His entire arc was recognizing the indifference the Jedi code had towards individuals didn’t line up with his ideals and desires to live a happy, loving life with Padme, he became a villain because he wanted to fight for his individual dream which is part of the focus of the Sith to focus on individual passions and desires.
The Matrix was a story by two trans writers about their experience being trans in a society that wouldn’t accept them. They felt like they had to live in a virtual world and be a fake person in order to survive, and they weren’t wrong to think that, being closeted and unaware of your queerness definitely makes the world feel like virtual reality.
Lebron just followed the money because pro athletes have a very limited time to play before their bodies grow too old to play on the same level as college graduates. None of these people were arrogant, or evil. They are just finding their paths to success and when you live in a capitalist environment, that means putting yourself at the top of a pyramid with a lot of people beneath you.
alright thanks for your input on these characters and people but the question wasn't about the people remember it was about "chosen ones" and arrogance in general. we can discuss these characters though if you would like, i dont mind, in a non confrontional way as we may disagree on them ,
the main question is if you are buond to becoming prideful and arrogant but its good to know that lebron james is not arrogant
in ur opinion anyway
can u answer my original question and then we can discuss those fictional characters and then lebron james
A better question is “Is it fair to place expectations made in fiction on real people?”
not necessarily but it's understandable how it could happen. after all, Anakin really was the strongest overall Jedi in ROTS and LeBron is at least talked about a lot in basketball GOAT conversation
Harry Potter for example was the chosen one and there wasn't much pride or arrogance in him, a lot of doubt in himself even to the point he questioned himself. now his father James on the other hand was an arrogant jerk who bullied Snape and Harry ended up sympathizing with Snape more than his own father. named his own son after him too
for Anakin and LeBron there is definitely some degree of "arrogance" though it's not completely unwarranted, then again "arrogance" and "confidence" is just a matter of perspective based on the Halo Effect/Devil Effect
mr anderson was not arrogant when he realized he was chosen maybe BEFORE , but changed to focus on job.
what bout n real life
are chosen one characters or people mostly tragic heroes?
anakin skywalker is the "chosen one" character im mostly used to and he can be arrogant but for understanbdle reasons and can be humble to
