Snow white remake, let's talk about it?

If you know anything about the controversy surrounding the Snow White remake then you would also know that people are not happy. Even the woke feminists are not happy. Yes crazy! We all agree on something for once?

For those of you who are not in the loop, Rachel Zegler has been cast as leading role of Snow White. Don't know who she is? Don't worry! Nobody really did until now. She has said some things during the press tour for the move and in the writers strike which have hit a nerve for a lot of people.

In an interview with variety she said "It's no longer 1937 She's [Snow White] not going to be saved by the prince and she's not going to be dreaming about true love. She's dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be and the leader that her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave and true. So, it's just a really incredible story for young people everywhere to see themselves in."

Wanting to fall in love is not anti-feminist, not wanting to be a leader isn't anti-feminist, not every Disney princesses has to be brave, courageous, and powerful.

Zegler has said in other interviews that she hasn't even watched the original Snow White. But she did go on one of the Snow White Disney rides and that was so scary... She's also expressed how the Prince in the original is a stalker (?). And the actor Andrew Burnap who plays one of the male characters might get all his scenes cut because "its Hollywood baby".

I don't know anyone who is interested in seeing this movie at this point. The marketing for it is... Well... There's a petition to scrap the movie is all I'm saying.

Disney lost it's way honestly. 90% of America just is not as progressive as Disney wants to beleive. I mean they are literally killing all our hero's and are promoting cancel culture. If not for Star Wars, I would boycott Disney.

I mean honestly as white, hetro sexual male... Disney is not really making any effort to connect with my demographic. Snow White is loving story, Willow movie had nothing to do with Lesbain love affairs, and the Little Mermaid was based upon a Danish Hans Christian Andersen fair tail... meaning that as one of the most prolific writers in Western Literate... Areil was not black.

Wokeness aside, I think it just further shows Disney's desperation. They haven't done anything original or even remotely creative in 20 years.

Pirates of the Caribbean was an absolute masterpiece on all fronts. Story, writing, visuals, score, acting, everything. After that Disney ran every creative talent out of their doors. People were hired or appointed based on political alignment and not their ability to do a job.

So now Disney is staffed by people who have no clue how to make good content. And now they're paying for it big time.

I see no reason to talk about some older woman with a much darker complexion playing the part of what should be a very light-skinned sixteen-year-old Snow White. The typical age for marriage at the time period of the original story. Obviously, it would be a waste of time and money to watch

Snow Brown has it's whole origin in a European folk tale and in the Disney 1937 interpretation of it. Now Snow Brown might not need a man, not want love nor even be willing to wear appropriate foot wear (see pic). But if you remove the essential elements of the Snow White story then it is not Snow White anymore. It is some other story with probably very little value in it.

The 1937 Disney dwarfs had characters that were lovable and there has always been a mythology about dwarfs just as there has been about giants. Re-badging them as magical creatures - with pronouns - doesn't capture any of that mythology.

If Disney didn't want to make a movie with those essential elements of Snow White than it should have made a different movie entirely with a different title.

It'll bomb of course. Re-using a popular title will not make an ill conceived story line a success.

To subvert the culture that produced the character, because the elites deconstruct and hate the culture as is always the case during the latter stages of a culture’s life cycle. The spiritual energy of the West is dead. Fine art since 2000 is rehashing and shamelessly repeating previous modern art. The main place we see real artistic expression is interestingly in tattoo art, as real artistic talent is no longer welcome in elite circles. We see constant retreading of old plots and characters which are then subverted for the aforementioned reasons and used to spread regime propaganda. All of this is common during cultural decline.

I agree, the actress does just shit on the movie. Snow White was sweet and likable but this actress is not. The movie is not the Snow White story, they are just using it to squeeze out some dollars off of other people’s work. The while thing is once again cultural appropriation, how ironic.

Disney is losing money, about a billion this year if I read it right. They blame all sorts of things but not the fact that many people won’t buy what they sell anymore, including movies. They have damaged one of the strongest brands in the world. Shame on them.

The don’t understand , we don’t want what they are selling. Disney brand has a negative connotation to it now. I have spent a lot of money with Disney over the years and would spend more but not now, that started with me during the Return of the Jedi fiasco.

It looks like it's going to be absolutely  dreadful!  And in my opinion, that's the intention all along. This Rachel Zegler character, about whom no one knew existed or cared until ten minutes ago was hired for one reason and only one reason. That was to inject racial and, as it turns out from her interviews, feminist politics (big shock, right?) into an adaptation of a classic story. When it inevitably fails, they'll blame racism.

At this point Disney is a dumpster fire. I heard CEO Bob Iger is trying to cancel the movie to avoid further devaluing the brand but the board feels like they have too much money invested already. The board is wrong as usual. They should use it as a tax right off.
