I would want SciFi, because it's my favorite genre, but I picked action because SF wasn't listed and I think action is the best experience for an actor. You don't get the most inspiring Emmy winning emotional scripts, but that's a fair trade for what you do get:

More exotic locations. More interesting training and sets like martial arts, flying around in aircraft or being on boats. Action movies have lots of incredible panoramic footage of gorgeous views and many movies travel to multiple locations (e. g. spy movies where the lead is in Paris one day, on an island the next, then hunting the bad guys across the tundra or desert &c.)

If you were an actor and could only be in ONE genre for the rest of your acting career, what genre would you want?

I think SciFi would be fun because it's got a lot of the cool elements of action but also better scripts and depth of characters with interesting plots and themes. Costumes are usually pretty cool though sometimes silly it's part of the fun.

Another cool thing about SciFi is it crosses a lot of genres. Examples:

Comedies :"Galaxy Quest", "Idiocracy"

Horror: "Event Horizon", "Vivarium"

Drama: "Dune", "Westworld", "The Matrix"

Action: "Edge of Tomorrow", "The 5th Wave"

Romance: "The Time Traveler's Wife", "Her", "The Fountain"

Plenty of animation and children's examples as well...

Horror all the way. I love writing horror fantasies novels. It would be fun to be in a horror movie. Maybe one of these day I'll publish one of my novels, and they can make one a movie. When I'm watching a horror movie with a girl and she gets scared, she grabs onto me! Like I said, I love horror, lol. I miss watching horror movies with girls. But yeah, horror!

From my experience, I've had the best times on comedy film sets - especially Dark Comedy. It's a totally different vibe from filming anything heavy and dramatic, just good times. For some reason the crew and talents get along much better and people are present because they share the same humor. If people work on a comedy movie or series they usually really want to do them just for fun, not because it would get them anywhere - that's what dramas are reserved for. Comedy is such an underrated genre.

Comedy because I feel like I would have the most fun on set in a comedy than any other genre. I feel like the actors and actresses have a ball doing those types of roles than any other genre.

I am a writer, and I write romantic stories, so I think I would like to be an actor in romance movies. It would be even better if it is a romantic thriller or an erotic romantic movie, but please not a porn movie... those are not at all romantic.
