Whats a movie that means a lot to you?

Modern Day movies suck. The 80s and 90s had some classics. To me my personal favourites are Dredd and Death Becomes Her.

Terminator 2 was a true classic aswell.

Lilo and Stitch meant a lot to me because I related a lot to Lilo, I was autistic and didn't get diagnosed until my teens so I knew so well that feeling of "I don't fit in but I want to" that Lilo had in that movie, as well as the response she got from others when they could tell something was "off" about her. I knew that feeling of rejection before you said anything.

Another movie is probably Howl's Moving Castle, just because I love how effortlessly the magic flows and how beautiful the animation is. I also really liked the first Avengers movie, just because I have such fond memories of seeing a block buster like that in theaters, and it was so cool to see all these heroes brought together for it from their individual movie streaks because I had never experienced it before.

Also, I'm pretty sure part of the reason all movies "suck" in the modern day is because nothing's really changed since the 1980's in terms of society. Fashion is the same, art is the same, including movies and media, it's all just rehashes of the same successful formula no longer made to tell a story but made to make money. Late-stage capitalism is ruining all your favorite arts, so we need to fix that before we see anything good again.

The Rocky series in general, but Rocky 4 had the biggest impact when I had seen it in 3rd grade.

It jumpstarted my interest in boxing and fighting altogether. I remember buying the whole soundtrack on my ipod and listening to it while "working out" the best I could at that age with the gym equipment we had, lmao. I still listen to that soundtrack today, as it's a total banger.

However, if we're talking actual meaning and not just epic childhood nostalgia, then it's Marriage Story. My parents got divorced at a young age, so the movie cuts deep. I refuse to rewatch it because of that, but it's still an amazing movie (scene shown is spoiler free).

According to Wikipedia Moore refused to see it because he was unhappy with the film adaption of i. a. "From Hell" (another movie I found really excellent).
