I'm mostly and definitely a book reader, but aren't there sometimes works that you like the movie more than the book? I do sometimes and I feel like I'm betraying the books because of that, that's bullshit!

I once watched a movie that came from a book and I thought the movie was the most bring thing ever after loving the book. Another time I watched the movie version first and read the book version second and I thought the book was boring and the movie interesting. So I think it depends which one you're exposed to first.
I think reading the book first is better. Movie should come second.
Better to play a game.
And short of that, watch an animation, and short of that, a movie, and short of that, a visual novel/comic/manga, and short of that, a pictureless novel.
They are all the same thing in regards to stories, just upgraded along the way.
The Godfather. Random Hearts. Gangs of New York. The Shining. Die Hard. Rambo. Fletch. Doctor Strangelove. Jaws. Blade Runner.
It's rare, but sometimes the movie IS better.
You generally want to read the book first, though.

READING a book evokes YOUR mental imagery and life experiences... WATCHING a movie exposes YOUR psyche to the film maker's choices of emphasis and THEIR choices of imagery and story-telling. Reading is 'engrossing' participation; Watching is being exposed to and passing judgement upon the film's perspective. BOTH require participatory thought.
I nearly always liked the book better, so if I want to enjoy both I have to watch the movie first, so I can enjoy it in isolation, THEN read the book.
Books have no limits in time, materialization and budgets as movies have. Then again, there have been fantastic film adaptations from books, like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter.
The books are always better because they have more time to tell the story.
I agree.
Books are a far more personal experience. You have to use your imagination, so it is more rewarding.
The Book Tells More But The Movie, However, Is Right Before your Eyes. xxoo
Probably the book for those that like to read.
It hasn't been changed to fit the big screen and time.
