Yes, I agree. For the majority of the movies it shouldn’t be necessary. If you have a great and a well thought through plot and characters as well as a skilled team to bring it together then nude scenes are completely unnecessary.

Porn releases dopamine (which is the happy hormone) so it’s a cheap way for screenwriters and directors to make the audience enjoy their movie and come back. Considering how bad screenwriters are these days at their job it’s not surprising that movies are getting more and more racy and vulgar.

I disagree with the second part of your statement. PG13 movies almost always bring in a bigger audience, and pushing into R territory outside of a war movie is entirely an artistic decision.

That said, I can't think of any movie I've ever seen that needed a copious nude scene to get the point across, so I'm inclined to agree that it's unnecessary.

Of course not- sometimes they ARE, indeed, necessary. And even when they're not an absolute requirement, that hardly makes them bad.

Game of Thrones featured what many would call "excessive nudity", and I don't completely disagree- but it also had nudity in places where you WOULD expect to see it, but most shows wouldn't show it, and it helped build immersion.

For some movies, I feel that it’s either necessary or it’s a funny scene to add into a movie. But for the most part, for most movies - yes it is unnecessary. If it doesn’t add to the story, then it’s not needed.

Its all up to the actors in movie to do nudity or not. If I directed a movie, up to the actors 110%. They will do scene with clothes. Then they will watch scene and decide which way to go. But i would make sure if they are being true to character. Now also if they decide to do scene nude, they choose who's in room with me and them, so they'll feel comfortable. That's important.

No, i disagree. Nude scenes in films can be tasteful and relevant to a story even. I think we know when it gets excessive or when they try to use it to sell the movie. You can say the same with people wearing clothes and how the media sexualizes them.

I think that if there are several sex scenes in a movie that wasn't marketed as sexual in the first place it's a bad movie. It means it sucked so much they had to hit the easy target out of desperation, which is that of porn addicted men. Sometimes the guys who make the movies just are pervs that want to shove their fantasies or fetishes down the throats of viewers, it happens often and even in children cartoons in a more subtle way.

No. Lol. It's definitely can be necessary. Like in The Terminator. It's established that only living tissue can travel through time. Nobody can bring any weapon or equipment from the future and have to travel nude.
