It's annoying to me as a woman when the filmmaker is using female nudity gratuitously and solely for the male gaze... i feel it is degrading in the cases where women do not have roles of equal importance or are shown nude every chance as opposed to their male counterparts).

 Men are not portrayed that way in nearly equaly numbers and it's because the majority of the time movies are made by men and women are in them to satisfy the male gaze.

I can’t think of a single time I’ve seen full frontal nudity of a woman where you could actually see her vulva. I’ve watched a lot of movies of all genres too. Seeing a woman’s breasts is not equal to seeing a mans penis. At all. I’ve seen more penis on screen then I have vulvas. Probably 80% of movies show shirtless men, where shirtless women are shown far less. A mans penis is much more sexual than a woman’s breasts. Shirtless people of either gender just aren’t very offensive. If you’re standing for equality, by your logic, there should be more shirtless women at the same rate as shirtless men appear. Women’s bodies, sexualized or not are just more visually interesting, and that’s coming from a straight female. And yeah sex does sell, so showing a topless women is always going to be good for business. But honestly, does anyone actually want to see someone’s dick pop up on your flatscreen when you’re watching a movie. Movies aren’t pornos, get over it.

I feel that neither male nor female should be used as an object of nudity on screen reason is that when they show romance its automatically understandable by the audience what it means unless which they actually do it for film profit purpose as people themselves enjoy women being seen as objects which is sad.
Rest its true gender bias is there regarding showing such scenes and if female nudity is used by filmmakers for male gaze then it should be vice versa too otherwise it should not be there for male n female both :)

It's not about fairness. It's a market. It's about supply and demand. It's about what sells. If films featuring guys' dongs became mega hits with women or gay men or whatever, then we'll end up seeing more of them. If they don't do so well, we'll see less of them. Simple as that.

If you're a consumer interested in seeing penises, instead of focusing on whether or not it's fair to show more penises, you could say you're just really interested in seeing more penises to the filmmakers and rally up more women who feel the same way. Besides not only getting to see more films come out with penises if you can create a strong enough demand, you can probably have plenty of guys happy to send you dick pics as well.

I mean if we compare levels of nudity it is probably almost even. I find many movies rip off the shirts of the guys every chance they get. If we look at genital exposure then men are likely exposed more.

I am agreeing with women being more sexually portrayed. But I think its a matter of how it is done. I definitely see more penises in movies than I do vaginas. And more naked male chests than female.

It’s actually really weird to me to see this question. From what I’ve seen, penises are already all over movies and series; even some erect ones. But you pretty much never see the female equivalent of a penis, which is a clitoris and labia minora. Balls are equivalent to labia majora. Practically all you ever see of naked female is pubic hair and most of the time is’t a furry merkin that covers the female bits equivalent to male genitalia. If a male were to be as equally naked as most women are in movies, he’s have to be wearing a furry thong. Shouldn’t they question be: Do you think there should be more full female nudity in movies?
Sure they show butts of both genders, which is equal. Sure they show topless of both genders (and it’s only cultural and societal of some countries that boobs are sexualized). But when you actually get down to equal, men are beating waaay more than women when they are fully naked. If men are exposing so much now. It’s only equal that women should be entitled to the privilege of exposing their clitoris and labia to desensitize the oversexualization of female genitalia. I see both sides of this, but think of it this way: movies are filmed to make money. Is a movie going to attract more females to come see it simply because there's a naked man in it? Sure, maybe some, but not really that many. (Am I wrong? Honest question.) On the other hand, are more men going to attend a movie because they know there will be a naked female? Yes, without a doubt. There is gonna be a crapton of money made from guys who went only for the nudity. At the end of the day it's all about revenue, and directors are gonna make decisions to up the cash flow, not so much to make people happy.

I understand your equality movement but more people even women would rather see female nudity over male nudity when it comes to movies. I’ve seen movies that allowed vaginas to be shown. But I have NEVER seen a movie that showed a mans naked penis. It’s kind of terrible. But the truth is, women are way more aesthetically pleasing, and therefore bring in hella dollars at the box office.

You're not degrading an entire gender by degrading a character in a film. Maybe degredation and grotesque gratuity is the theme the filmmakers are trying to portray. Maybe the character is nude because the storyline necessitates it.
