I saw some episodes of this show when I was a kid. I think it had a weird time slot, like 4-5 pm every day, so it was programmed like a soap opera. I'm not into the horrow/fantasy genre so I never got into it.

Yes. I found the film quality of quite a few episodes lacking, but the story was interesting, especially after it shifted to Barnabas Collins and his quest for redemption.
