Is there a movie you feel did right not completely adapting to the book it was based on?

Well, most of the times when a movie is made based on a book Or a series of books, it is cut down a bit or sometimes a lot to fit the timeframe and most of the times they cut something important and then readers like me want to slit the throat of the movie maker.
But this one movie "IT" did something great by removing a scene in the sewer (I am sure people who have read the book know what I am talking about), cause damn after reading about it the book made me kind of ill.
Have you seen any more movies that adapted a bit better than the book Or cut something that was better not shown.

To be honest, I hate reading so i wouldn't know if most books and movies followed one another. I mean maybe in school when we read like Hamlet, Othello, A Wrinkle in Time, Bud Not Buddy, Frankenstein, Bridge to Terabithia, Ramona and Beezus, Alexander and the Terrible No Good Very Bad Day, etc. I dont think i compared the two too much. But i notice the differences in like Willy Wonka, Matilda, and James and the Giant Peach films/books. Those kinda irked me
