Why does it seem like every character in a soap opera is unlikable?

It's like 99% of them have no redeeming qualities. My grandmother watched them all the time when I was a child, I never could get into them or really understand what was going on.

Because it's all over-the-top drama. People who are dramatic may be interesting at first but they get to the point they wear on you. Then they get to the point that you just want them to go away.

Women like soaps because women are mostly drama. Guys want to face problems, deal with them, resolve them, and be done with them. Women are like plumbers, they're always dragging up old 💩.😆😆😆

My late Grandmother watched the Young and Restless faithfully and my late Mother would do so too, but hey they found something interested in it.

Yeah I can understand that Seinfeld had characters that were all narcissists. I hated the Friends show as well.
