Do you think Sabrina Carpenter went too far filming a music video in a Catholic church?

Apparently the Diocese of Brooklyn is pissed after Sabrina Carpenter filmed a video in a church. Doesn't the church have other things to worry about like their kid touching habits?

I don't know anything about her or the video, and while churches are generally open to everyone, that doesn't mean one can or should be filming themselves making a dumbass music video on the property without permission. There may actually be major legal problems with this depending on state laws.

Never heard of her or the video. I looked it up. What she did was in really bad taste. She obviously knew that and did it intentionally.

However, the church gave her permission to film. Supposedly the pastor who gave permission didn't follow protocol and should have reviewed the script. But that doesn't change the fact that she was given permission. It also doesn't change the fact that it was in really bad taste.

But whatever. The church blessed and cleansed the church, which is just silly. The whole thing is silly and not worth the controversy. Everyone needs to get over it and worry about more important things.

Some people are pointing out that she had the priest's permission, which that may be, but it should have been the bishop who have authorized it. Given that the priest has been relieved of his position and the bishop did a Mass of Reparation, I think it's safe to sat that the bishop wouldn't have approved, especially since what she did for the video was apparently entirely inappropriate.

She clearly choose to disrespect the Catholic Church, if she'd done this in a synagogue or mosque she'd be cancelled or worse.
