Is it bad to only make 60,000 a year?

If I use my algorithm to write books, I might make $30,000 to $200,000 a year, but if I sell my algorithm, I might make 300,000,000 or more, but if I sell my algorithm, I might permanently lose my ability to write books, cause millions of people will copy my style.

No one is going to give you $300 million for your algorithm. That said, if they did, you'd be stupid not to take it and go do something else. At your estimated yearly earnings what they would be paying you would exceed your lifetime earnings... Time value of money dictates you take the money now.

Well if you could make 300 million dollars in one shot then I don’t think it would matter if other people used it, you’ll never catch up to that at the pace you’re going and people aren’t reading books as much as they used to
