Do you think movies are getting better or worse?

I think they're getting worse.

Definitely worse. And it honestly is not so much because of the stories/ideas but because the acting today seems to lack a lot of talent. In the sense that when I watch these movies I feel like the actors are acting in a way they think relates to the population or appeases them, rather than trying to be a realistic character or something. It also feels like many scripts are written to be careful of people's sensitivities nowadays, so the acting is sometimes sort of rigid or lacking life.

I might not be explaining it as well as it makes me feel watching it, but all I know is that the movies today are not as fluid or talented as they used to be.

They are getting worse for the most part, which is causing mediocre/passable movies to get much higher praise than they deserve.

They are different from what I grew up on. I also focus only on the genres which interest me, mainly SF, some action movies (with specific actors) and rarely some more or less romantic comedies.

I liked Nolan's Dune part 1, but I am curious about Villeneuve's Dune part 2. We will see in three months.

Kids movies are 100% getting worse and crude. Adult movies have too much feminism nowadays and I hate that.

In the West they are definitely getting worse.. Just not enough care for actual storytelling and too much hiring if activist.. They are hiring people who are don't have imagination.. Also too much studio interference.. But around the world other mediums are flourishing..

Yeah worse. For one, people are running out of ideas. And for two, people these days have a shorter attention span so they just want action, action, action and over the top special effects, instead of letting suspense build up and making them realistic.
