Worse, movies were better back in the day , especially in the 70’s and 80’s when times were better that it is today , Movies today aren’t the same, most of them put me to sleep because they are lame , why I barely watch tv anymore because
Most of it sucks , once in awhile I will find a show or movie worth watching but I will only watch it once , but back then I could watch h movies over and over because they were so good and entertaining, There isn’t a movie today that I would watch over and over

Obviously the cinematography is better, but Hollywood is out of storylines. So many new movies are just rehashed old themes with a little bit of a twist. That's one reason why, in my humble opinion, comic book movies became so popular. There's endless stories, and the youth of America (and the world), that's so into video games, didn't have to think about plotlines. They're just action, fight scenes and high tech effects for the most part, which is par for the common intellect.

Worse and too expensive. And I dislike too much created by IT-industry. I like the good movies with real actors. Not to be 100 % perfect is the perfect. I dislike the more and more superlative effects. That is why I am not interested in new movies. I don't know much interesting new movies the last years. Of course I watch them when they are avaible.

Worse, significantly. It’s hard to find a movie these days that isn’t focused on gory battles or shock factor. I miss the kinds of movies that were being released 10-20 years ago.

I can't think of a single good movie that has been released in the past 10-15 years. The industry is dead. The Chinese bought it to destroy American film making and the industry players sold out and peddled woke garbage for their communist puppet masters in an attempt to demoralize the American citizen via propaganda. As a result Hollywood no longer exists as an economic power. North American cinema annual per capita attendance is through the floor. Theaters are cutting staff left and right or even closing completely. The ones that are open don't even check if you have a ticket anymore. They use the honor system via phone based tickets. If you want to pay to see propaganda you can, if you don't want to pay you can just walk in and nobody even checks because theaters are so dead...

I learned it has to do probably with giving money to ‘sponsors’ more than creative people.

It used to be creative person pitches an idea to studio then studio approves then it gets shipped into the theater.

Now you have executives hand money to lower ranked employees then they go to someone with an idea and that person does their bad idea then it gets shipped to the theaters and its bad.

Bad movies were always a thing, but now the quality is really dying especially when you take into consideration the budgets for CGI and overblown advertising campaigns also just getting big name celebrities also sequels or prequels or spin offs.

They are absolutely worse. Hollywood has increasingly lost a creative ability and is working overtime to appeal to the public, not realizing that they're really just boring people more and more. Especially with the constant remakes of classic films and even by trying to keep the original actors in them who are all too old now.

Last month I saw Americana with Sidney Sweeney and downright hated it. Even the new Superman was okay. It was decent but nothing compared to the originals or even the ones with Henry Cavill. Some exceptions would be The Batman and Oppenheimer. Both terrific movies. But the vast majority of truly great films were in the early 2000s and the last century.

I think they've gotten pretty bad. I mean most of the newer movies are remakes of those older movies and they just add woke elements to it. It's like the writers themselves have gone woke and started to suck at storytelling.

I do like some stuff that is more recent... like movies from M. Night Shyamalan, but in general... I think movies have gotten worse. I'll use predator movies as my example. Just compare the old Predator movies to all these new Predator movies. These newer movies don't even compare to Predator and Predator 2 in my opinion.

Modern movies are terrible, compared to past movies.

It seems like the majority of them are remakes, reboots, or sequels to movies that came out 30-40 years ago. They can't come up with any original ideas, so they try to revive franchises from the past, just to make a buck.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they announced Titanic 2: The Re-Sinkening. 🤦

In my opinion, movies in the 2000s were of the best caliber. There was more creativity, better plots, better acting, and less of the alphabet brigade being shoved in my face everywhere. The only thing that has gotten better is CGI.

I look forward to the day where anyone can make movies with AI, because then it will simply be a matter of if you have an idea. Everyone will eventually be able to make their ideas come to life easily, just by prompting AI.

@thegreenyogi high definition and smaller cameras (to the point they can be HD and handheld or even worn on the body like those tripods around a camera person's waist) - it's become so much better 📽️🎥 the quality, visually - as long as they don't regress back to "too many frames per second" my poor eyes and brain 🧠 👀 during that brief period - it started to look fake or no offence cough some Hobbit scene sequences cough allegedly to my eyes when I watched

They were definitely better back in the 70s 80s and even some in the 90s but then there’s been a big change and they just don’t make good ones anymore except for a few rare occasions so that’s probably why I hardly go to the movies anymore and also because I would have to go by myself But unfortunately the movies these days are so bad and mostly CGI that I just don’t appreciate them

You haven't specified how many years ago, but that's not a problem because movies right now are worse than they've ever been.

There are several reasons for this, including the infantile subject matter and the fact that they often shoot random scenes without a script and try to put them together to make a movie, then show it to a preview audience and realise they have to reshoot most of the movie.

Modern USA movies are worse than movies of the past. In the past, profit was the primary goal, and movies were made to entertain. Now, profit and entertainment matter less than propaganda and unrealistic political correctness.
