What did movies and TV shows do better in the past? How was it better and why?

Movies definitely had better effects I mean seriously the CGI stuff is so unbelievable it is not funny but I must say it is getting better. Bring back the days when there was real explosions and trick photography, Maybe terminator two is a good example but I do like the movies that are supposed to be not real like say Inception, that is done well.

What do you mean by better exactly? Like a product of its time and was great in its time? I would say most 80s or 90s action movies.. Half the stuff in those movies wouldn't fly so much today.. LOL.. They are great movies, and sort of products of their times..

They actually had new and creative ideas instead of the tenth part of some franchise.

Only the horror and sci fi movies became better with time but other genres were better in the past because they were more realistic and simple
