I’m looking to start a side-income and I’ve always been a decent artist and consider myself a creative type… Just wondering how sites like Etsy are, or another site I found yesterday called RedBubble?
I’ve heard of some print-to-order services that would be a good option to keep logistics and costs down and super simple, but not sure how the quality is, or how the business model works.
Also wondering if you could actually build a brand around using these services without any issues?

Yo dude that's actually a pretty dope idea to sell your art online! I've heard good things about sites like Etsy and Redbubble.
From what I understand, they basically give you a storefront to sell your designs on things like shirts, mugs, phone cases, etc. Then when someone orders something with your design on it, the site prints it and ships it for you. So you don't have to deal with the production/shipping at all.
As for quality, I think most people say the print quality is usually pretty good. Not always 100% perfect, but decent enough for a lot of casual buyers. And the fact you don't have to print or ship anything yourself is a huge plus, so quality may vary a bit but you avoid a ton of hassle.
And yeah totally, I've seen lots of artists actually build full brands selling through those sites. As long as your designs are dope enough, I don't see why you couldn't develop a following over time. Just be consistent uploading new stuff.
Might be worth giving it a shot on the side at least and see how it goes! Could turn into a cool way to make some extra cash doing what you love, you know? No risk in putting your art up there to feel it out. Let me know if you start listing stuff, I'll be your first customer bro!
There are three ways to sell art, one is having a media popular subject matter such as a picture of a non copyrighted celebrity. Another is having elite creativity skills cause the competition is very stiff. The third way is to have a beautiful and unique cultural style. A girl from my bible study took a family trip to Egypt and she bought an Egyptian style icon image for all 30 girls in the Christian fellowship when she came back to Canada. My uncle uses Chinese artistic styles to paint domesticated animals and he has a buy ratio of over 50% online.
