I am an avid gamer and I love call of duty but has anyone noticed how cod has become pay to play and they aren’t even hiding it? I also noticed and learned they don’t really use skill based match making but engagement optimized match making which is why you get one match you dominate and the next your being destroyed the next 5 games. Why isn’t this being talked about more in the gaming community and why aren’t we bullying the creators and companies who are responsible? If you have a regular character in game you die in 3 upper body shots but if you buy a player skin or weapon your health gets boosted. Meaning you’re not as good or bad. I don't know look it up and lmk what y’all think, youtube has many people researching it

I feel like all these modern FPS games are dynamically handicapping you in real-time… the hit-reg and aiming never feels consistent.

The devs keep you winning and losing at the rate that they want you to… it’s like a self-congratulatory pat on the back for them… “ohh we designed such a competitive matchmaker -- everyone’s winning and losing 50% of the time -- good for us, look how great and competitive our game is!” when really, it’s just rigging games… So it’s like, “is my end-result not basically pre-determined then…?” So ultimately, my question is, what good is it to even play?

You’re just playing an algorithm/matchmaking-simulator disguised as a video game at that point… just along for the ride… It’s not what gaming should be. It’s completely fake. If you’re being matched just to win or lose to satisfy some set algorithm, I’d argue you’re not even playing a video game at all… and certainly not a competitive one!

They keep churning out this slop because they know that some rube will buy it. I haven’t bought a cod game in like 15 years. Haven’t played one since BO2.

So I never played that game, but I think companies try to create an open playing field that accommodates people of different skill levels cause the bigger the market they have buying their product, the more money they can make. Examples include Pokemon, which a ten year old can play and a 50 year old can also play.

Maybe so however it’s supposed to be skill based matchmaking where there are players slightly better than you and slightly weaker so that you learn how to improve, however thanks to EOMM it’s as if a new player is going up against a pro if they start doing slightly good. And if you pay for an expensive skin that skin gets extra health and damage

I still play it though. But I feed them none of my cash. I only play cold war cause it was gifted to me for free.
