Please vote in the poll for the BEST MOVIE MUSICAL...
Grease was okay, but I Loveeee west side story more. I could relate to it much better, and it pulled my heart strings. I just wanted Tony and Maria to be together away from that mess. It was sad how much they all hurt each other, and the truth of how they didn’t even fit in with their parents.
Isn’t that sometimes how it works? Some young adults or kids don’t fit in with their families and friends and they want to make their own alliance and make others know they don’t fit in with THEM?
In an accidental way they continued racism when in reality it really wasn’t what they wanted all along, and many of them as humans just wanted a place to call their own, and a group of familiar faces to call family. Just so well done.
Choreography was enjoyable, as well as the cinematic effects and music compositions. I also always loved seeing that part of New York. I even believe I had passed that park before OR I passed one very close like it.
If I’m not mistaken it was a park on third avenue of the lower east side? I’ll have to double check.
I can watch Grease, The Wiz and Sound of Music repeatedly. But they all start off so boring. Even the Wizard of Oz. I fast forward Grease until i reach the sleepover scene where she goes outside and sings Hopelessly Devoted to You. That, the prom, and the fair scene are the best parts. I fastforward The Wiz until she meets MJ as the scarecrow because the home dinner and munchkin land were mehh. I fastforward Sound of Music until the oldest daughter is dancing with her boyfriend in the gazebo and Julie sings the song during the thunderstorm. I skip the beginning of the Wizard of Oz until she's singing in munchkin land. So yea i can't choose. They all had incredible soundtracks tho. I’m shocked i dont see Cats above. West Side Story (the newer remake) wasn't too bad. I kinda enjoyed it all the way around but i hate the ending
Chicago had like 2 good scenes but was boring. haven't seen the others on the poll
I guess I’ll vote the Wiz since i probably rewatched it the most. I love Sound of Music a bit more but the film is too damn long so i can't even watch yearly.
That's a tough one as I'm not the biggest fan of musicals even though my wife loves them. I went with The Sound of Music. Yet my favorite off the list is probably The Rocky Horror Picture Show:
Also found most of the movie forgettable, but I found this one scene from Into the Woods hilarious. My wife and I couldn't stop laughing when we watched it!
https://www.youtube.com/embed/tvsDObIQFhgI went with Grease. I always liked the movie and have seen it live back in St. Louis before I ever moved anywhere.
maybe I'll get a little more cultured, one day and see some more musicals, as I do enjoy them in smaller venues where you can really appreciate the work of the actors and actresses.

I've never seen a musical I like. I don't mind singing if its part of the plot but bursting into song and dance for no reason doesn't sit right for me.
I became less of a prude over time lol, I for one willingly knew beforehand and enjoy Mean Girls the remake musical (the third film in my lifetime and I even saw the low key Mean Girls 2 a decade more ago)
*I enjoyed the musical earlier this year. I went alone, sat alone, surrounded by others and some spare seats 💺
Grease I only voted for because it's too old fashioned for the sound of music (yet I don't mind it too much and I'm biased anyhow) and I for one just know some of the grease songs as a slightly more 'modern' aka go grease lightning ⚡😁 🌩️
Thumbs up asker 👍🏻👍🏻
They all sure have been around a while asker that's for sure🎩 thanks for the update asker 😈🙌🏻
Of those: Grease
My favorite: Tommy
I'm not a fan of musicals, but I'd have to say Grease. Olivia Newton-John was beautiful and had a great voice. She'll truly be missed.
It's hard to top the writing of Leonard Bernstein.
Of these? I'd probably have to go with The Sound of Music.
I might or might have not done Grease...
I notice I skip all of the music in every musical except for the sound of music.
Lol i used to skip the songs in Tyler Perrys plays 😂
@DizzyDesii I'm usually the type to skip the songs to watch the movie then just watch the song part on YouTube when I wanna see it 🤣
It's a solid list but where is Blues Brothers?
"South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut" (1999)
Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny
https://www.youtube.com/embed/2tvKDAW6FlkI say Grease. I do not think I saw any of the other one.
the sound of music
loved the cartoon as well
Wow just learned today that this existed

Love West Side Story. I saw that in '63 in the theaters when it came out. Leonard Bernstein was the composer. It was great.

Omg Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was great from beginning to end! I definitely wouldve chosen that on the poll
Into the woods is my favorite one.
Caberet, the original West Side Story and South Pacific.
