What aspects do you fear most about snakes and spiders?

I love snakes. I had some as pets when I was a kid. I now live on acreage in a rural part of California. When I run across the occasional rattle snake that has bumbled its way into our garden looking for mice and voles, I catch it, put it in a box, drive it to another part of our property, and release it to continue its happy life.

They aren't very large or aggressive. The last thing they want to do is bite something they don't plan to eat.

I'm not crazy about other varieties of venomous snakes. Fortunately, we don't have any others in this part of the country.

The only thing to fear from snakes is getting bitten by a venomous one. The others are harmless unless you're tangling with a giant python or anaconda.

I think spiders are kind of creepy. I don't want them crawling on me. Most are fairly harmless, though. Thank goodness I've never tangled with any dangerous species.
I don't automatically kill spiders that get in the house if I can help it. If I can catch them and put them outside, I will.

I found one of these in our garden a couple years ago. It was big and absolutely gorgeous!

There are so many different types of spiders. Some are magnificent and some are cute as hell.

The occasional wolf spider gets in the house. They are pretty big and freak my wife out.

They don't spin webs and aren't mean. I always put them outside to eat bugs.

As with snakes, the only thing to fear from spiders is getting bitten by one of the more venomous species.

The venom- what else is there to fear? Snakes are our protectors, guarding us from rats and the like, and spiders... yes, they look freaky, but think of all the bugs we'd have to deal with if it weren't for them. Eating our crops, eating our animals, eating US...

If anyone ever teaches a spider to talk, the first thing it'll say is "FEAR NOT".

I have no problem with snakes. Maybe if they are as suprised as me and attack me, especially if poisiounous, otherwise not really.
Spiders on the other hand, all of them are scary. The one and only cute ones are jumping spiders and therefore scary as well.
The big ones are horrible to look at, even if some are not dangerous. The smaller ones are somtimes too hard to see until its too late. I hate having them crawl somewhere, I hate seeing them, I hate knowing they exist and not see them even more. I hatelbeing scared of every single one of them.

I've eaten a Rattlesnake and had King Snakes and Tarantulas for pets, so I am not afraid of any of them.

scorpions are not a problem. Just be careful not to step on them...

spiders are a different story lol... especially their hairy long legs... ugh... I don't care if they are dangerous o not... adrenaline and cortisol hit hard... arachnophobia...

Its human nature to fear them, we are supposed to fear them for safety in the old ages but a lot of them aren't dangerous anymore. The problem is that part of our brain doesn't know that lol. But I'd say snakes. There are really big spiders in Gambia and I dont mind.

Venom. I'm not scared of a snake and spider at all if I know they can't kill me with a bite. But because I'm not an expert on spiders or snakes and have no clue which ones are venomous or not, I'm pretty wary of all of them for the most part.

They creep along the floor. They bite. They are unpredictable. They are ambush predators. They look scary.

I don't fear... I am just aware that Texas has two spiders that can be particularly problematic and they do like a dark place like mine... lol

I'm do not have a fear of spiders. But I hate reptiles especially snakes and lizards, snakes are extremely dangerous and the way the move creeps me out.

I'm not afraid of either in general. It's rare to encounter a venomous snake here in Washington, and very few North American spiders are venomous.

I don't fear either but venom is an issue for both.
I have handled a 9 foot Boa and been bitten by an 11 foot Retic.

The venom. A Mojave green rattlesnake will kill you pretty quick. My brother found a young one under his sleeping bag when we were kids in summer camp.
