Are you scared of snakes?

Nah. 95% of snakes are non-venomous and harmless... EXCEPT, they can still bite you and cause an infection.
The little ones that hang around your garden couldn't even get their mouths around your fingers unless you're a small child. And it's mostly according to what part of the country you live in and if you're in the city or the country. Not going to run into snakes in cities, unless it's someone's escaped pet and most of them are small constrictors.
Diamond backed rattlers, eastern and western versions, are rather ubiquitous, even in the Deep South where I live. Cotton mouths are quite venonmous and are swamp snakes and the famous little skinny coral snake is down here too. Very pretty, not a nice one. The Copperhead is a common venomous snake. Quite beautiful: can be pink, red, orangeish... and BITES!
Rattlers won't kill you unless you're immuno-compromised or very will. But they can make you very, very sick if you don't get anti-venom after being bitten post haste. The same is true of the Copperhead. You'll feel miserable, but not dead. The cottonmouth, or water moccasin, is semi-aquatic and a great swimmer! Therefore, swamps and waterways of eastern U. S. They are larger snakes, their bites more venomous and can cause tissue necrosis. So MORE dangerous. The Mojave Rattlesnake is the most venomous US snake.
It bites with lots of venom...
But the point about all these snakes? When you're walking in the forest, desert, lakes or swamps where these snakes live, make plenty of noise and use a walking stick. SNAKES AVOID PEOPLE and only bite as a defense mechanism. If you DO get bitten, know the color of the snake, brown, grey, reddish, or the coral snake's red and yellow. Then the proper anti-venom can be administered.
That's the whole point. GET TO A HOSPITAL IMMEDIATELY and get treatment. Otherwise you risk unnecessary pain and possible tissue damage that could permanently affect you!
On the OTHER HAND, most snakes are NOT THESE PIT VIPERS! Most are just as harmless as green or brown anoles looking for bugs and other food in the leaf litter..
Nope! I love snakes 🥰. I always think it's a treat when I see one outside. Obviously I know not to approach it or scare it. Almost always a snake would rather not waste it's venom and energy on you if it doesn't think you're a threat or trying to harm it. Just be cautious if you're doing anything outdoors! Most snake bites are complete accidents from when a person is hiking or climbing and they accidentally touch or step on or near a snake.
Sssssss 🐍
I have been bitten 3 times. Twice by Timber Rattlers and once by a Copperhead. The first bite was in 1974 and again in 1977. The first one almost killed me. In 1977 I was home on leave and was asked to join some friends who were getting snakes for making antivenin. I survived and was OK until 1985 and was walking in a wood pile and did not notice a small Copperhead that nailed me on the ankle. Because I did not see a lot of swelling I decided against an expensive ER trip. It did later turn out to be a dry bite. I cleaned the bite well and went to bed. The next morning I still did not see any swelling so I forgot about it. I don't fear snakes I can see. I do try my best to avoid the ones I can't see. I had a close call with an Eastern Brown Snake near Brisbane Australia working on a project. This snake is an Elapidae. Fear that snake!
No and we got a lot of water moccasins around here when I was little an animal guy came to our school and he put a python on my shoulders snakes are actually pretty mild mannered creatures and very low maintenance they just have a very bad reputation

Only when I'm in a hot desert riding a ATV mostly nude and the trail is narrow and a cliff down to a river on one side and a big hunking sandstone rock on the other side with a big fat rattle snake sitting on it ready to strike as I ride by.
Not usually scared but I also keep my distance except when I can't.
No. in grade 3 I used to go to a classroom with my younger sister and there were many other students who stayed in to play with the snakes instead of going outside. It seemed pretty cool so we went. We wrapped snakes around our neck and observed them. We even had a favourite one which was a pale greenish white with a black diamond shaped big spots. It was beautiful.
I’m not scared of snakes. I actually think they’re pretty cool.
I would be scared to encounter a snake out in the wilderness and be uncertain whether it’s venomous or not.
If they’re the ones that can stand up and look like the stick of a car when they’re standing and hiss at you HELL yea. But if they’re the normal ones no.
Had a dream last night. Surrounded by cobras 🐍 but not one ☝️ bit me or tried 😂. They’re scary af
No, not scared at all. Just don't get too close and they'll leave you alone. It's that simple.
No I love snakes, but admittedly I am afraid of spiders.
I think my girlfriend is getting sick of me making a big deal out of killing every spider I see in our house. It's like SEAL team 6 getting suited up to take out Odama Bin Laden
No I have owned quite a few in the past thats non venomous a venomous snake would scare the shit out of me if it were something i stumbled apon but not at a zoo i would not be
I like going to the reptile house at the zoo and see all the snakes. In the open, I'm cautious of snakes, because I'm never sure whether the snake I see can harm me or not.
No I love them with there beautiful patterns
I like snakes. I am normally not scared of them unless it is a venomous snake in strike position.
Only afraid of the kinds that can do harm to us , I definitely shy away from them
I detest them. They are the enemy. Long limbed curling bastards.
I like snakes...
I respect them, though
Nope.
And if you are afraid of em then just take a shovel and cut their heads off. Problem solved.
No, not in the least. That's good, because snakes are quite common here in Florida.
Not scared - just wary.
Every now and then we have one here coming out of the bushes. I send them back.
I would not go over to one and pick it up but I am not deathly afraid of them.
I don't like Rattlesnakes or most Pythons, Black ground snakes are cool though mainly because they're super fast and non venomous
Snakes have always creeped me out.
They still startle me, but not nearly as much as when I was little.
Nope ha I actually snatched up a rattlesnake and cut its head off because it was in my yard a few days ago
Not more than say a wild boar. Non domesticated animals can be dangerous. If a friend has a pet snake, no.
Scared Hell Yeah and I find ALL reptiles disgusting and repulsive as fuck !!!
Only the poisonous ones or the ones that can kill me in other ways.
