I've been playing MIDI keyboards since I was a little kid since I was a video game designer and programmer back then. I couldn't hire artists and musicians to make me pixel art and music and sound effects for my games so I tried to do it all on my own.
I'm not very good at it and just self-taught and often need to quantize my recordings and edit my mistakes digitally. Also unless it's just a very simple arpeggio on the left hand, I have to record the left and right hand parts separately.
Yet I liked to crank out a bunch of little tunes for my video games, like this (little theme song for a video game featuring a Japanese cat):

  Dug up this one from when I was a little kid. It's one of the first songs I tried to make seriously on the keyboard after discovering some violin and strings soundfonts I could combine with the MIDI input and using soundfonts rather than MIDI instruments. It's a bit weird and the sound quality isn't so great since I recorded it on cassette tape.

  I didn't know about scales and chords back then so everything I recorded was in C major or A minor, typically A minor. I couldn't understand how people used the black keys since they sounded weird to me. So I mostly just pushed the white keys and learned some basic chords just on my own like it somehow usually seemed to sound good when I pushed the white keys 2 intervals apart from each other.

  Also have the Akai MPC 200 although I've never found much use for it.

I played the drums for 5 years in my teens. I haven’t played since I was 18, though. I think I could still play now, but I’d take some time to adjust, and be a little rusty.

  Awesome , yea the drummer usually plays off of the bass player , every time I played in a band for fun , I always played with the drummer , I don’t really listen to the guitar as much when I am jamming we usually get the rhythm going for the guitar player to jump in , My favorite band of all time is Rush, Geddy is my idol and Neil Peart is God on drums , so sad he passed away
