Why does Netflix not have all episodes of Naruto?

I got into anime lately. And when I check the seasons of Naruto online, there are 9 seasons on Netflix for original Naruto, but there's only 5 according to Google and Quora. What's the reason behind this? Why does Netflix not have all episodes of Naruto?

Because netflix sucks.

The short version is people aren't getting/keeping netflix subs, and thus netflix isn't getting the amount of money they wanted. They overspent when adding all those shows and movies, and now that they aren't getting the expected return, so they are making cuts.

All streaming video services are about to face the reality of overspending. Expect most or all to shut down in the near future (or hike their prices even higher while reducing their libraries even more).

I'm purely speculating because I don't know the specifics behind Naruto, but this sometimes happens with TV shows if a different studio takes over production at a certain point, or distribution rights aren't shared.

Knowing Netflix, they're probably probing for interest before greenlighting an attempt at live action remake.

Anyways, the answer of your question is they dont buy all the episodes sometimes or the company change after some seasons and they dont have a deal with them that's why you cannot find all the seasons of some shows.

Americas horrible copywrite laws happened. All these streaming services destroyed physical media so now you never truly own anything and they can take whatever they want away from you whenever they want, all part of the fine print. I was watching a series a couple months ago, got about 4 seasons in and it disappeared from all streaming services with no warning.

The other seasons are probably licensed out somewhere else. I’ve seen this happen all to often on streaming services. When a smaller service like Roku has the rights to the early, or late seasons then Netflix tries to get the rights to stream the show but can only get what’s lefts. It’s annoying but sadly it’s common

Naruto originally was like 5 seasons. It got cancelled then a few years later it got restarted (like Futurama and Family Guy). When it restarted they renamed it Naruto Shippoden. I would try looking for Shippoden on Netflix once you finish the first few seasons. However, if you have Cartoon Network as part of your cable you can watch Naruto on AdultSwim. com once you sign in with your cable provider info.
