What do you think of the "Montreal Screwjob"?

If you have no clue what this is even then just keep moving, you having nothing to contribute to the conversation.

I only bring this up because while this is almost 30 years. later, it amazes me each time I hear a wrestling personality talk about it always seems to have thier personal bias. Also not everything is for the cameras. But in a business like wrestling where everything seems fair game. If the subject of something is juicy enough I can see why everyone involved would say, "why not promote it and we all make money off of it.

The point of what I'm saying is we all know what Kayfabe is. But in modern times where wrestling is a billion dollar business and not the territories of yesterday. Information travels fast. And so it seems as though kayfabe has multiple levels. Also in "sport" where there's so much theater involved it's not surprising to see so many wrestlers or just people in the business playing a (subtle) part at most if not all times.

What I'm asking is how much of the Montreal was real. And how much of it was theater. Do you think it was a long con? Or do you think it's just something that has evolved over time to be used as needed. Because I think it's the latter.

By the way I wouldn't call myself a big wrestling fan. I wasn't even watching wrestling during the Montreal Screwjob. So I welcome hard-core fans, and casual fans opinions on this.
