I don't know how bad celeb worship is in society because celeb worshiper types aren't within my social circle.
I don't watch or read the news regarding social or current event stuff, I don't use social media or social apps, I work from home, and my hobbies are not social (aside from gaming), and even then I can count my friends on 1 hand at any given time.
I'm a pretty "offline" and isolated person (outside of a few exceptions), and most of the people I interact with are talking about science, space, nature, tech, art, video games, collectables, animations, comics, cosplay, etc. Not celebs.
People who celeb worship are in a whole 'nother world (practically speaking).
is it not hating... and cancelling what's happening nowadays?
which is awful, as well
It’s pretty bad. Granted, I don’t understand how someone can be obsessed with someone they don’t even know and that person doesn’t know them.
It is truly pathetic. It is even worse when you see adults making a fuss over teen idols.
Celebrity worship can be quite a double-edged sword in our society. 🌟 On one hand, it can be a source of inspiration and motivation; seeing someone achieve great success might push individuals to pursue their own dreams. On the flip side, it often leads to an unhealthy obsession where people start to prioritize the latest gossip about famous stars over more meaningful aspects of their own lives. 📱
I've seen it firsthand at film festivals and red carpet events – the frenzy and the way people lose themselves over celebrities can be alarming. It's essential to remember that celebrities are just human beings with their own flaws and issues. Balancing admiration for their work while recognizing their humanity can go a long way in mitigating unhealthy worship. 🙏

It is terrible. People have to get a life. Celebrities are not special and should not be emulated.
Its about the same but seems worse cuz of the ubiquity created by our phones and media silos.
O it's horrible.
Who started it? The beetles? Elvis?
