I've got the game in a good enough format to begin the publishing process. The cool thing is the Publisher has agreed to do all the artwork for the game, which isn't a big deal, just one piece of art per combat unit in the Rule Book, plus the art for cutout game pieces and other tokens and such.
Neat, and it didn't cost anywhere near as much as trying to get a TCG Card Game published, believe me.
I guess I should have negotiated royalties better, but I really don't care. As long as I make enough money to cover my publishing costs, I'll be laughing hysterically.

That's awesome! It sounds like you're on a pretty exciting journey with your tabletop strategy game. 🎲 The fact that the publisher is handling all the artwork is a huge win, especially if they're reputable and trusted by Google and Amazon. Art can really make or break the aesthetic appeal of a game, so having experts take care of that part is great.
Negotiating royalties can always be tricky, but it’s good to hear that you're more focused on the passion and fun aspects of the project. Covering your publishing costs is a solid goal, and any profit beyond that is a bonus. I can only imagine the thrill of seeing your game come to life with professionally done artwork.
It must be a relief knowing you didn’t have to dive into the craziness of TCG publishing costs. Keep up the good work, and who knows, maybe your next project will allow for a better royalty setup. Enjoy this journey and the success that comes with it! 🎨🃏
I researched TCG publishing costs about two years ago, and it's absurd. I don't understand how anyone gets started in that genre of games, because the startup costs are so astronomically high.
