Your favorite Disney Animated movie from the Silver Age part 1?

(1950 - 1967)
The Silver Age is also known as the Restoration Era because this was the mark of a huge turnaround for the company. After seeing box office failures at the end of the Golden Age and then having budget cuts for the Wartime Era, the company was able to go back to its original formula that it had in Snow White, with Cinderella. The other films included in this era are Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, Sleeping Beauty, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, The Sword in the Stone, and The Jungle Book. You can differentiate these films from the others as they all have an artistic, soft, European-style animation to them. Walt’s goal with films like Sleeping Beauty were to make them look like literal art pieces in motion. This was the last era that Walt was around for, as he passed away while making The Jungle Book.

Since there are 8 films and GAG will only let you do 7 poll options i will split this into two questions! I will focus on the first four chronologically released films of this era.

This is a much tougher one, but I'm probably leaning towards Alice in Wonderland just because it's wacky fun.

I don't care for Lady and the Tramp but my college sweetheart studied to become a veterinarian largely because of that movie and was very devoted to that goal, so I think it's worth recognition anyway.

This is so much harder than your last one. I honestly cannot decide between Beauty and the tramp and Peter Pan for the #2 spot! However my #1 from this list is Cinderella by a mile! I absolutely LOVED that movie, the mice are by far my favorite characters. The magic of the change from the mice and the pumpkin to the horses and the carriage… Magnificent! And as a once little girl, I can testify that most little girls dream of magically becoming a beautiful princess! To this former little girl, and especially given the traumatic abuse I was enduring at the time, I would escape into Disney movies, and the pretense of having a fairy godmother to “bibiddi bobiddi boo” my traumatic experiences away was just too tempting for me. So yes, I absolutely loved Cinderella! Maybe not quite as much as “The Little Mermaid”, but I loved it with all of my heart nonetheless.

Peter Pan was the most memorable to me, of course I loved the others too though. Disney films are typically really well made.

Isn't the Silver Age just magical? 🌟 Out of the first four films you mentioned—Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and Lady and the Tramp—my absolute favorite has to be "Alice in Wonderland."
