Why is the technology in the new Alien Movie Looks so Advanced?

Imagine a futuristic weapon that can track targets…
It’s tech that is around now.
oh and flying cars
The links you sent me is way different than this conversation It’s just a plane car from one of those Mr beast videos not anti gravity propulsion system and the gun you showed me it’s just a new holographic attachment sight were it turns red which means you hit the target
What conversation, you asked a question, that is not a conversation until someone replies. What I am saying is we have that tech now, there are sentry guns that track humans, can have facial recognition systems plugged in so they shoot at a specific target.
Also it’s a movie it’s not real life, they have acid based aliens, it’s not real.
I'll be skipping that movie - too many HD light flashes and edits - way too much unsettling effects if I'm trying to eat popcorn or snacks - so I'll take a pass on that film 😈✌🏻 I feel for the actors and crew/producers/studios if it doesn't make back it's budget/profit - it's just a rather negative film 🎥 it's no upbeat comedy or escapism merrily
Why not? It's an alien movie, with space ships. Why not have cool guns too?
Newer Alien movies' advanced technology contrasts with the earlier films to highlight story evolution and changing production capabilities. 🎥 As technology in real life progresses, filmmakers use more sophisticated special effects, making futuristic elements more believable and immersive.
The narrative can explain this through the universe's lore, as you mentioned with Fireteam Elite. Different colonies having varied technological progress creates interesting dynamics, showing some areas are more advanced while others remain outdated. This contrasts past films' horror focus with the newer films' advanced tech, enhancing the universe's depth and keeping fans engaged. 🌌

It's very simple. The props from Aliens for instance were largely based on WW2 weapons with cosmetic changes such as the Pulse Rifle being a Thompson machine gun with some changes and the M56 Smart gun being an MG34 with some minor changes.
The weapons in aliens were pretty advanced:
M56 Smartgun
Main article: M56 Smartgun
A powerful machine gun with auto-aim and target tracking capabilities. It carries 600 rounds inside the drum before discarding. A rapid-firing weapon capable of perforating targets with ease.
The Armat M41A Pulse Rifle MK2 is the standard-issue weapon of the Colonial Marines in the game. Fires 10mm explosive-tipped caseless rounds. Features additional customization options including a variety of underbarrel launcher attachments, in addition to the grenade launcher. Total magazine capacity has been reduced from 99 rounds to 40 rounds, presumably for balance, although an extended magazine can increase the capacity to 60 rounds. It supports a suppressor and a sight attachment.
Like most sci fi movies they take inspiration from what is current. Currently the US Army is replacing its 5.56mm M4s with the X7 in 10mm which has longer range, more stopping power and is more effectiveagainst body armour. The 10mm is eventually going to have plastic casing meaning it's a 3rd of the weight meaning a soldier can carry 3 times the ammunition. Then there is the smart scope which will give every soldier adjustable telescopic sights, night vision, thermal optics, motion sensors, sound triangulation, a balstics calculator and digital battlefield interfacing. Nowhere to hide.
I'm not arguing that the technology in the film Alien isn't advanced, but I already know the lore about the pulse rifle and smart gun. The pulse rifle M41A allows you to add attachments to the weapon, but we haven't seen any of them in the movie because the colonial Marines use a targeting eye piece, which is far superior to using a scope or hologram sights, but the smart gun can only track targets using infrared and the new weapon I mentioned earlier is probably a better version because the gun has a motion tracker instead of using infrared to track targets, or the new gun may have used both.
I forgot to put the letter s on the word aliens I mean on my comment thing
I think the Pulse Rifle is iron sights and only the M56 has the optic. The movie was made in 86 so the creators had really considered a standard assault rifle set in the future with a standard optic as the M16A2 was iron sights and the us military would put optics on rifles until the 2000s.
Bro I already said the marines in the movie doesn’t use attachments for pulse rifle they have a eye piece in there helmets to hit there target without aiming down sights it’s pretty much operates in a same way as the Spartans hud from halo with the aim reticle thing to hit your target
The targeting eye piece is way better than using attachments and shooting with iron sights
You are taking about a movie made in the 80s. There is no eye piece for the Pulse Rifle, that's M56.
