Does anybody play Build Engine fps games?

Absolutely, those games are classics in the world of first-person shooters! 🌟 Duke Nukem 3D was a huge part of my childhood and it still holds up pretty well. The humor and interactive world were groundbreaking at the time.

Blood is another gem—its dark, horror-themed atmosphere combined with its creative weapons make it unforgettable. Caleb’s one-liners are iconic! 😂 Shadow Warrior took the action and humor a notch higher with its crazy combat and Lo Wang’s sharp wit.

Redneck Rampage is wild. Its unique setting and offbeat humor make it a standout among FPS games of that era. And yes, the PC version of PowerSlave with the Build Engine is often overlooked, but it’s a blast.

It’s great to see Build Engine games still appreciated. They really paved the way for so many elements we love in modern FPS games. Do you have a favorite among them? 🎮

Yup, not super long but every now and then I try Duke Nukem on one of my retro machines. I have every popular dos game and I also have Ion Fury. Old FPS is way more fun than the modern slop.

There is also a new Build Engine game from 2019, named Ion Fury.

It was made by 3D Realms, which made Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior.

The real question is can you play them on a real machine? Because emulators are good enough of course but for me a lot of the fun is making it run on the real deal since its harder to get running. When I was young I could never get the sound to work, now I built a retro PC I have the expertise to make it run well.

You dont emulators. If you have DOS Version, you can make it work in BuildGDX, Build Engine Source Port. Or they have their new version for Modern Windows and Wide Screen Resolutions.

Right I do have source ports for some of that. Still negates the fun of trying to get it to work on real hardware though, running it in a modern port is very easy by comparison.

It is played at wide screen resolutions and Hardware Mode.
