For me personally the biggest difference between them, which is the stick positioning gives xbox allways the edge for me. I used a 360 controller, than upgraded to a xbox one controller which I still use.

Its not even "used to one type" I never had an xbox but had a ps2 and started what you could gaming on the ps1. The first controller I used extensively was the PS2 but the first time I held an xbox controller it felt much more natural for me.

Add one: xbox controller are mostly made to also be used on PC. Afaik PS controller need additional support.
