Why do I always get jealous when someone’s art is better than mine?

I love to draw and it’s been my dream to be an artist. A lot of people say my art is so good and some say it’s okay and they’ve seen better.
When I saw one of my classmates art, everybody was AMAZED! She got so many compliments. I was blown away and gave her positive comments but I’ll be blunt, I’m JEALOUS. I feel so bitter and jealous when I see her art and people giving her art more attention than mine.
I asked about my art but most said, “It’s good but not as good as (her name).”

“Great but you can do better.”

”Meh.. it’s alright”

”I’ve seen better.”

Even my own nephew said, “Well your art is great but not as great as (her name)’s. I like hers better than yours. Welp bye.”
Ouch that hurts but at least he’s honest. He’s seven.

I’ve gotten brutal comments of my art and it hurts so bad.

I never took art in high school so I don’t know how they are.

Other people's opinions are just opinions.. whether it's very nice.
Or I've seen better. What do you think of it..
Because when you like it.
And you think it's great
And people silly words don't bother you anymore
And you stop getting jealous.
Because of words.
And you have a positive attitude about everything

That's when your work will speak for itself it doesn't matter what other people's think or say it matters what your work speaks for itself it sells itself it expresses everything without one word it makes people think it makes people cry makes people happy without one word that's when you will be great but you have to let all the garbage go because it's holding you back every time you get jealous it holds you back and if you're being held back your work cannot speak for itself when you're doing all the speaking and you have all the drama you're taking away from your work let It go. There's first graders that are probably better than you does it even matter there's artists that have their names out there all over the place they're probably better than you does it even matter you're not in competition is between you and your work let your work speak for itself there's always going to be somebody judging you no matter what where how when there will always be somebody

Just like me I'm somebody I can either be negative or I can be positive it depends on how you see it not anybody else this isn't about anybody else this is about you and how you can become the best you can become and that is to leave the drama and the jealous garbage behind because it means nothing what needs something is what your work says to everybody that looks at it whether they love it or hate it it does not matter what matters is you did it you did it the best you could and each time you do it you get better and better

Comparison is the thief of joy. You thrive on praise (everyone with a creative ounce in their bodies does to some degree) and don’t like to see it lost to others or see them get more than you, as if there’s a limited amount of compliments to be had. Learn to make art for fun, not compliments, and you’ll be much happier in general.

I never am like that but do get jealous with my partner in other women. Long story because I have never been like this. Don't be so competitive. You know you are GOOD!!
