AI yes, streaming yes and no.

Streaming pays much less to the artist compared to record sales, but you don't need a big label anymore, so smaller bands can still put their music out. And you can listen to anything and not just the stuff the local record shop has in stores.

I think music was already ruined well before AI came along. There's been nothing new in music in the last 30+ years at least. It's just a rehash of things that have already been done. I think it's all been done so there's nothing left.

I liked post-disco New Wave. Simple minds, Wang Chung. Thomas Dolby. Also concurrent R&B like Shai. Both were were high-tech but still displayed creativity.

I'll give you that. But those incremental changes were relatively insignificant compared to the foundational genres of the past on which everything produced today is based upon. They were like rearranging the chairs in a certain style of house that already existed.

Agree Martha and the Vandellas begat Pointer Sisters, End Vogue and Destiny's child. Hard Zeppelin and ACDC were begat by (!) Link Wray.

Yes, they are ruining not just music, but also movies and tv shows.

Less and less people are buying music DVDs, less and less people are going to the cinema, video stores almost don't exist any more, everything is totally ruined.
