What kind of music you don't like?
Metal not all of it just the ones i can’t understand what they are singing about. The music I like the most is when the lyric speak to me.

AskAs an art enthusiast with a broad appreciation for various forms of artistic expression, I tend to be quite open to different music genres. However, if I had to pick one that's not my favorite, it might be heavy metal. I appreciate the passion and skill involved, but it's not something I typically gravitate towards in my personal listening. 🎶

Any of the modern “stadium” country. I guess currently that’s guys like Zach Bryan and Morgan Wallen. Somebody told me about a guy named Eric Church and I hated that too. Jason Aldean, lmao. I think it’s partly because of the way the guitars are tuned, and partly the way the artists sing. Like I don’t want to be able to tell what kind of accent you have when you sing, lmao (reggae excluded, I like it in that instance).
I can’t really do that with most other genres of music, like I’ll hear English bands and won’t necessarily hear their accent, excluding a few telltale words here and there. Like maybe I can tell a little, but not overwhelmingly. Like that’s my number one thing when I hear country, I’m always like “Jesus…do they HAVE TO sing like that?” I have a BRUTAL Boston accent, lmao, but you’d never know it if I were to sing. I magically pronounce R’s with ease😂
The only country I can really typically tolerate is classic Outlaw Country, your Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, that sort of thing.
I feel bad being so closed off, but at the same time, I listen to probably the most strongly hated genre by others (if not in numbers, then in intensity), rap, and specifically “gangsta rap”, or “coke rap” it’s probably more called now. So I don’t feel as bad since I’ve take a lot of flak in the 40-ish years I’ve listened to it.
I think that’s the best way to put it: I feel about Country music the way a 60+ year old white guy feels about rap music. Just instantly viscerally offended by the entire sound of it, just maybe not as hateful of the associated culture.

I have over 62,000 records so, I like nearly all kinds of music. The only stuff I don't like is hardcore punk (punk is okay, to a point, just not the hard stuff), modern metal (pretty much anything from the mid `80's to the present), modern country (anything from the late `80's to the present. It's just too flash!), disco, rap (somebody left the C off of THAT word!) and this pop princess shit from the past 30-some years, mostly starting with Madonna! What is she now, 85, 90 years old? And she still sings like a pubescent little girl!! Honey, YOU lost your virginity when you were 5!!! Along with what little brains you had!! She's like AOC, the ONLY good thing about her is her tits!! Cut `em off and put THOSE up for election!! If democrats can vote for cunt, I can vote for tits!!

Of these genres, probably folk/country.
Not a fan of opera. Is that a music genre? Or theater genre. I dunno.
Not a fan of ballads, but I think they can be lumped in with folk music?
I'm not a fan of a lot of the music in my country. If it is a more generic afrobeats sound, I like it. But some of the music in my country still sounds a lot like music I'd hear uncles listen to when I was a kid and ugh.00 Reply- 29 d
I specifically hate cowboy country. The ugly twangs, the pitiful crooning, or any of that bullshit where they sing about getting drunk and fucking their truck. I much prefer gothic country, or any country song about a woman killing her husband.

Rap. I don't hate all of it. but that produced when I was small seemed to be lyrically deeper and musically more interesting for the most part.

I hate hip hop/rap. That’s terrible. All the others are good. Some heavy metal is good. I LOVE jazz.
