I like what twilight did as the beginning of the supernatural romance genre, which is a personal favorite. The books themselves had some good moments and didn’t deserve the level of public hatred they received but Stephanie Meyer definitely has some issues from her mormon background that are very clearly reflected in her writing. The mention of soulmates being children alongside the fact that the two main love interests were named after her brothers are valid and justified criticisms.
