I think 20 years ago everyone was shocked that he's still alive, now they thought he was invincible. I was expecting him to live a few more years.
It's a big loss to the music world and British culture, but it's nice he got to perform with Sabbath one last time. It's a little awkward, because I've been listening to his music since I was a kid.
Even my mom who usually doesn't give a shit about celebrities and wasn't a huge fan of his vocals felt sad, and was annoyed the news stations weren't giving him much attention. She would sometimes watch his reality and travel shows. He was just the kind of person, where even if you didn't like his music, you could still find him entertaining.
