I took it slightly badly. I am not a particular fan of Ozzy at all, but the name was part of my background growing up, and so it did kind of upset me a little bit.

Yes. Ozzy was part of my life.
I first saw Black Sabbath in 1971 when they opened for Grand Funk Railroad. I was 17. Their music was revolutionary. It was the original hard core. There had been nothing like it before and their music had a tremendous influence on me. They created an entire genre.

After that, I went to every Sabbath tour in the 1970s. I even saw them at Cal Jam 1.

I was the lead guitar and vocalist in a high school garage band and played a lot of Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zep and that kind of hard rock music.

Ozzy's solo stuff was great, too. Crazy Train with Randy Rhodes was ground breaking.

It was a surprise that he died two weeks after his final concert, even though I knew he was in bad shape. I'm just glad that he got to do that farewell concert with his old mates Tony, Geezer and Bill, and be honored by so many admirers - people whose careers he influenced - as well as fans.

Sabbath introduced me to heavy metal music and Ozzy's passing is sad even though his influence lives on.

That being said, his death didn't effect me as much as so many of the greats who passed before him. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Keith Moon, John Bonham, Duane Allman, Rory Gallagher, Randy Rhodes, George Harrison, John Lennon, David Bowie, Keith Emerson, Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Phil Lynott, ... the list goes on and on and on.

'War Pigs' will always have a special place in my heart... but to be real, he was just a burnt out rich dude at this point that was doing nothing. Hope he enjoyed his time and is resting in peace. Do I feel bad? No... not at all. I voted no.

His daughter is a fucking shit bird, so I hope his ghost reflects on how that happened.

Well it’s sad he died yeah but I find it sadder when young people or people who fall victims of violent crimes die. It seems like Ozzy Osbourne was neither of those
