If I am writing a self help book, what is the longest length you would recommend? And how many arguments is ideal?

I discussed this with my friends on Thursday and they all said I had too many ideas and should shorten it down.

On one hand, I understand that writers want to make a living.

On the other hand, I hate how many self-help books I have come across that are just one life tip stretched out to 250 pages with loads of boring anecdotes about people in labs doing psychology experiments. Also, most of this is not even helpful information, because most people are not lacking advice — they are lacking social support.

I see the whole industry as a bit dishonest. If you wanna help people, go meet up with them and help them.

If you wanna share life tips, tweet them. Don't make people waste their precious lives plowing through boring verbose self-help books.
