Yes it is indeed a very basic song, badly written, sure, but compared to commercialized music? This is so much better. People are leaving hate comments on this guy's song as if he's the only one trying to sell nostalgia, as if marketing and fashion aren't already doing that. People hate him for expressing himself, it appears.

When he made acoustic cover, he got less hate. Why? Because he was adhering to the norms of the society, of what it means to write a good song. Weepy acoustics is the way to go, in the age of 2020 and Tiktok it appears.

People seem to have forgotten that art is an expression, not product. You don't consume art, you feel it! xx

It has to be hard to get, in essence, because constructive criticism requires efforts, patience, belief and adaptive skills. It's not intuitive at all.

While mainstream 2025 internet values and rewards frustration, drama, immediacy and bluntness. Because grand displays of emotion generate a lot of attraction or engagement in the form of traffic. Then this traffic generates megatons of ad revenue. Any for profit platform of importance knows the formula by now. Same methods are applied to politics since forever, that is, in countries where this formula works.

That guy hasn't made a masterpiece, but then again, have you listened to today's music? His works are pretty good, pretty expressive, pretty darn incredible, pretty honest compared to marketed garbage we all listen today.

What's more, people respect artists that provide today's garbage, but they can't respect free music.

Because corporates have trained is to expect products, not humanly ventures.
