I read a few Jewish poems written by people I knew when I was a teenager online in the last few years and I thought they were beautiful. I will not mention the poems because I do not want to draw attention to people that have not given me permission to post their names online.

Thank you. I'm not amazing, however, the people who have read some of my poetry have marveled over it. Of course I am my own worst critic.
I still have the very first poem I wrote when I was a little girl.🙂

Same, I’ve also kept my very first I wrote when I was about 12-13. It came so naturally within 10 min or something and got published as well. It’s sad that I barely find that kind of creative inspiration anymore. Do you still write poetry often?
And yes I understand being your own worst critic; it’s a vicious cycle.

I've been thinking about trying to write poetry again here recently, 🤔, but haven't put the pen to the paper yet.
When my first husband abandoned me and my newborn son, I believe that writing ✍️ poetry really helped me get through my pain. I could write one after another without stopping for hours. I ended up throwing them away last year. My entire folder of poems from long ago went in the trash one day. I mean, at my age, how long was I going to hold on to my past pain? I did keep some other one's though.

I understand that, writing is a great way to process emotions. You’re right, you shouldn’t hold on to the pain but you can always starts writing again for a different theme, if you’re in a better place now.
