Which is the nicest tree?

The UK is having their yearly vote on their favourite tree. There's 10 to choose from, but I've picked out 5 based on the photos show the whole tree.

Some are well known in a historical sense, others from movies, others just photographic, but based on the images which is the best?

Lollypop tree, Wiltshire.

The lonely tree, Llanberis

Argyle street ash, Edinburgh

The Beatles cedar tree, Chiswick

Burrowdale yew, Cumbria

Honorable mention to the Sycamore Gap tree that two blokes had a few pints too many and rudely cut it down in 2023.

The lonely tree should be safe... in the middle if the loch... snd gets my vote.

They got 4 years for chopping that tree down. Oh and you only get lochs in Scotland, that lake is llyn padarn. (Lake=llyn, Padarn was the Saint who converted King Arthur to Christianity)

We do have our own UK tree here in the USA that is alleged to have been bought from Sherwood Forest.

Tree hugger here. Spent a substantial amount of my childhood time in trees. I treat them all as equals. Even apologize when they require trimming.

I'm partial to the appearance of the yew. Nice though? Likely have to bring it a cup of tea and have a conversation to determine that, besides aren't yew trees toxic or poisonous in some way?

Yes. That ones about 2000 years old. Traditionally they were planted in graveyards to stop farmers grazing their livestock.

Clever. I was pretty sure I'd read in one of the books on Elder FUTHARK runes that yew was a favored wood for crafting them, and that one should take care not to nap under the tree after harvesting the wood for the deed.

They all have appeal., but voted lonely tree ahead of Ringo / Paul's tree which also looks fantastic.

i like The Beatles cedar tree, Chiswick And The lollipop tree who doesn’t like climbing the tree to get lollipops. Awesome. I never heard of a tree that produces candy and that’s the first I've heard that’s excellent
