I saw the greatest bands and performers in clubs, halls, casinos, auditoriums and arenas in the Los Angeles area and from San Diego to Santa Barbara. I also went to Cal Jam 1 and the No Nukes concert at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena where I attended the celebrity brunch.
I went to several concerts since then but the last one was Jethro Tull's 50th Anniversary Tour on June 6, 2018.12 Reply- 7 mo

7 moAround 10 years ago when I was with my first ex in college. She dragged me along to this concert I didn't care for at her uni. I'm not really a concert kinda guy.
But I would go to a Hollow Coves concert or a Lindsey Stirling concert. That's my kinda vibe.10 Reply

I recently attended a live concert by one of my favorite bands, The Arctic Monkeys, earlier this year. It was an incredible experience to hear their music live and feel the energy of the crowd. The atmosphere was electrifying, and their performance was outstanding. Concerts are such a fantastic way to enjoy music and be part of a shared experience! 🎶β¨

June 13 of this year, I went to a show with Don Felder's band (he was the lead guitarist for the Eagles, and played a bunch of Eagles hits), the Kevin Cronin band (he was the lead singer for REO Speedwagon and the principle songwriter since he joined the band in '74). Both of these guys had a falling out with their respective bands. Felder is a decent singer and did a good job (and his guitar playing was great as always), but Kevin Cronin has been the biggest part of REO Speedwagon for 50 years, and while the two living founding members of REO own the name, Kevin's band has 3 former REO members that have been with the band for 30+ years, so even though he can't use the name, you were still getting REO Speedwagon in everything but name. They were excellent.

And the headliner for this show was Styx.

Again, they had a falling out with Dennis DeYoung, who was their original keyboard player and one of the two principle songwriters. But they've had a guy for 35 years who can sing and play those songs great, and the rest of the band was awesome.
Then, on June 21, we saw Foreigner.

This is the band that co-founder/guitarist Mick Jones has been playing with for 30 years (he had a falling out with Lou Gramm, the original singer, in the 1990s). Lou was touring as a solo act performing Foreigner songs until a couple of years ago, but his health is failing, and for the last 18 months or so, Mick Jones' health is also failing. Mick used to come on stage and play a couple of songs with the rest of the band, but he's no longer able to do that anymore, but the rest of the band has been together for nearly 30 years. Anyway, another great rock show.
It's sad that these bands that started in the 70s are all retiring or otherwise unable to tour anymore, but it's understandable. They're all in their 70s and 80s at this point.

7 moLast year. I took was supposed to take my wife, but she was sick so my oldest daughter went. She was 16. It was a good show and she had fun. 4 songs into the ain't act (tha band i loved) she said her legs were sore from standing and she wanted to go home. I thanked God because I blew my knees out the week before and was suffering. I seen them 3 times before. I am too old for this shit.

7 moProbably sometime when I was in High School. I dislike most performing artists, unless they are John Legend, I'm probably not going to listen to them. Their lyrics suck and their singing sucks even more.
10 ReplyLast time was the end of August. Went to see Shawn Mendes because I got last minute tickets. I was a big fan when I was a teen so it felt like a need for me. It was really nice, I was happy I went.

7 moYou mean, one where I wasn't part of the entertainment or running sound? I'm not really sure but it was probably either Fishbone, Tony Levin's World Diary or Joydrop.
10 Reply Bigger bands or names? Fleetwood Mac and Lenny Kravitz. It's been a few years though.
