Are you good at solving riddles/puzzles?

So I am watching a Let's Play on YouTube and watching the streamer struggle with a puzzle in game and it made me wonder how others fare.

When I say puzzle I don't necessarily mean a jigsaw puzzle although I suppose I will include it here. I know for me I tend to struggle with riddles, but puzzles I am OK at.

So how about you? How do you deal with riddles and puzzles? Are you a master at solving them or do you often find yourself looking up an answer online? Be honest, no judgment here.

I usually like figuring them out, that used to be why I liked The legend of Zelda so much.. tho now it seems the puzzles aren't as difficult or maybe it's just cuz I'm an adult now I don't know lol.. but sometimes it can take me a few days to figure something out where I would visualize it and think about it in bed how it could work out.. so I don't think I am that great at them to be honest lol..

When we were younger me and my sisters would sometimes start a puzzle project together and that went really good for about 2 mins until I got bored and started using the pieces for other fun activities like tossing them to kitty to play with. I don't think we ever finished a puzzle.

I deal with riddles and stuff in about the same way.

I hate jigsaw puzzles, but sometimes it’s the only way to engage with older family members, especially over the period when time stops between Christmas and New Year. I finished one once. A large, difficult one. We transferred it to a board and sprayed it with glue so I would never have to do it again!

@RedInnocent69 That's a good solution. I sometimes wonder if people just want the picture, instead of going through the aggravation of the puzzle, why not just hang up the box cover?

I enjoy solving puzzles and riddles, and I find them intriguing. While I might not consider myself a master, I love the challenge they present. I tend to take my time and enjoy the process, viewing them as a fun mental exercise. If I get stuck, I try different approaches, but I won't hesitate to look up hints if necessary. It's all about the enjoyment and the thrill of the "aha" moment for me! 🧩🧠😊

I'm usually pretty good at it. My quickest solution for Rubik's cube is 20 to 22 seconds.
My brother came home one night with this metal puzzle he had, it was made of 10 or 12 pieces of various shapes and sizes and nobody at the bar where he was passing it around, could solve it. You had to take all the pieces apart. I was in the middle of cooking hamburgers around 2:30 a. m. when he walked into the kitchen and pulled this foot-king puzzle out of the burlap bag it came in and asked me if I could solve it. I had the whole thing completely apart within about 15 seconds of seeing it.
Someone gave my parents one of those clocks that uses silver metal balls dropped onto a series of ramps to tell time for their 25th anniversary. Nobody else bothered to try to assemble it so, I took a shot and got the whole thing built without using the instructions!! The only things I needed to look at the instructions for were these two tiny little white rubber rings and the white crayon. I only had to pull off one or two of the ramps to put the rings in the right place and the crayon was to fill in the numbers on the sides of the ramps so you could read the time.

I struggle with both riddles and puzzles, except puzzles intended for ages 10 and below. My older sisters are both a lot better at figuring them out than I am. They have a different biological father and he's very smart so they must've inherited his brains. My boyfriend can solve puzzles quicker than my sisters can most of the time, and when he started coming to our family gatherings I felt very proud and happy for him watching him beat my sisters, something I've always wanted to do!

I do sudoku, and the occasional Wordle, I've never been good at crosswords.

I program, which is basically solving riddles/puzzles you set yourself.

(Today's Wordle was nasty, one of those words where there are at least three words that matched the letters it took three guesses to fix in place. It was, of course not my first two guesses.)

I’m decent at them, but I don’t force it.

If the logic clicks, I solve it fast.

If it doesn’t, I don’t pretend.

I enjoy the process more than proving I’m good at it.

Fair to middling. I know some people who are better, and more who are worse. I enjoy doing them though, and i’ve been doing more recently to try to mitigate the deterioration of my mental faculties.

I like solving riddles and puzzles. There are two puzzle games I play every day on my tablet, and I often play riddle videos on YouTube.

I'm pretty good. Rarely do I get stumped.

I was doing jigsaw puzzles for a while when I was unemployed. I was able to put together some pretty complicated puzzles

Reasonably good. There was website at "Kappa Books"- a printer of puzzle books. They have a crossword, word-find and Sudoku "of the day". Another good one is "Solitaired. com" if you like card games.

I solved all the riddles in Baldur's Gate 2 without outside help.

I think I beat Shadowrun on the SNES without outside help too.

Im good with spacial reasoning puzzles and mathematical puzzles. But I suck at word scramble and literary based puzzles
