I certainly respect its place in music history but it would not be my first choice to listen to.

Was that like, all politically correctly worded and all that or what? I mean, like, some people could just say, Oh, that sux. But, no, not me, I amazingly skirted around the entire question without making a commitment to anything one way or the other thus saving any future poltical aspirations I may have should this question come back to haunt me in the future with any blackmail attempts or something.

Ok. I do appreciate all music so I did give them a listen. I have to echo @exitseven. I mean other than a bit different instrumentation here and there if I heard it at a reggae bar or wherever I would not be able to tell it was early roots compared to Bob Marley era and after.
As I said tho, Reggae was never my first choice and I should prolly go back to listening to Waylon Jennings.

Where I go on vacation there is a bsr that has "Reggae Sunday" and play reggae music all day whiile people get falling down drunk.
