Do you actually go to fully enjoy a concert?

(Cue old woman voice), back in the day, people used to just go to concerts for full vibes. They would enjoy the artist(s), and just let the music move them. Now, a vast majority go to concerts, phone in hand, blocking others views, and try to get it all on tape for youtube, insta, or social media, rather than are they fully taking in the experience.

I fully enjoy the concert, no electronics, just go for the full experience

I feel like recording a concert is getting my full monies worth, and I can watch it LATER!

No I would go to concerts just to listen to the music. The rhythm, each instrument I want to feel it. I want to feel that energy just rushed through my whole body. It's the same thing today, I wouldn't even take my phone in with me. I want to become that moment. Now it’s like half the audience is working as unpaid content creators, recording shaky videos they’ll never rewatch, just to prove they were there. I get wanting a quick clip, but if you spend the whole show behind your phone… were you really at the concert, or just attending for the algorithm?

I went to a concert last year and it was amazing. I did take a few pics bc I was there with friends and they bumped us to VIP at the last minute (a prize thing) so we REALLY lucked out. I don't think I'd record a concert, though. Just enjoy the moment.

Social media is usually the last thing on my mind for going. It's because I want to see my favorite artists live and enjoy the experience. But I do know exactly what you mean, people just want to tell the whole world "Look! I was here! What were you doing!"

Usually but, the time I went to see Starz I was pretty bored during their opening act, Rush. I was standing up the whole show about 60' from the stage and I fell asleep for a while.
And, the time I went to see Primus, I'd JUST gone to see my chiropractor after having a minor spot of back trouble. I was about 30' from the stage and a lot of people started a mosh pit near me and I was NOT involved but, some asshole rushed up behind me and hit me in the back!!

I still love it, but the ticket prices are out of control, and the experience has been ruined by idiots holding up their cellphones. I would like to see cellphones banned outright from ALL public events.

I go to enjoy. It is also a social thing. While we don't typically get big name performers where I live, we do have a summer concert series that is not bad at all.

I haven't been to a concert since 2003. Back then I didn't have electronics to record it. I fully enjoy the concert, no electronics, just go for the full experience
