How do you brave your way through and play resident evil?

I really want to finish the resident evil games so i can play requiem later on whenever but RE0,1 are too old and clunky, and 2/3/4 remake and 7, village are too scary. And 5,6 well…eh. There’s too many and very scary.

The only one I found even remotely unsettling was RE7, but even that one wasn't too bad.

I dislike Tyrant/Mr X chasing you around in RE2, but that's more cause he's annoying, and forces you to rush, than because he's scary.

I honestly thought RE8/Village was really tame, by comparison.

If you're finding them too creepy to play, to the point where you're unable to finish, they may just not be the best games for you, or you could just try playing them on easy/assisted mode to decrease the difficulty, and make them less stressful.

If you play on PC, there are supposedly mods that make you immortal during certain sections, like when Tyrant shows up. I play on Playstation, though, so I'm not sure if those mods exist for the other games, but that could help lessen your anxiety, possibly?

I have all of em on PC, i just use unlimited ammo cheats at this point if i wanna play em

I totally get this 😅 Resident Evil can be intense, even for longtime gamers.

Try playing with the lights on, volume a bit lower, and maybe a podcast or chill music in the background to blunt the scares. Co-op or streaming it while chatting with friends helps a lot too.

Start with 4 Remake or Village on easy difficulty with lots of assists. Treat it like an interactive horror movie rather than a test of courage, and take frequent breaks when your anxiety spikes. You’ll slowly desensitize and it becomes more fun than scary. 🎮🧟‍♂️

i agree with the bot. play with the lights on and have other things going on to keep you distracted, so you don't get too caught up in the story
