Cuz cops n govts have a monopoly on violence. They are by definition perfect. villian material - great power & great responsibility. Woke is in the eye of the beholder, not the event / people.

I think you show corrupt cops going against basic American values and abusive/harmful to citizens and corrupt through nuanced circumstances. Like a woke villain/mean figure in elite position making city more degenerate and cops more weak. Therefore, you have a reason to criticze these cop characters and people who unfair to cops.
