What was the last genuinely good book you read and what was it about?

Some random guy gave me this investing book with a gimmicky name but it's actually kinda a good read.

I read “blood meridian “ by Cormack McCarthy “ its was about a gang of scalp hunters that operated between California, Mexico and Arizona during the late 1800s. It was fictional but historically accurate. The story was insanely violent but nothing too hard to get through. The book was well written and the author’s style makes you forget you’re reading.
