I watched all episodes and on more than one occasion, felt emotional. The slow deaths that they suffered were hard to watch, especially after hearing their stories and regrets. Fair warning, a child also appears on this show as a terminal cancer patient.
It's on Paramount plus on the reality section. While it's very difficult to watch, I do feel a lot more mentally strong after watching it and confronting the process of death as at some point, I will have to see someone I care about go through this process as well.
I won't give names but former coworkers are falling ill, one has pancreatic cancer which is progressing very quickly. And one was on dialysis, had two heart attacks and had his third and final one, last week.
After seeing this show, I think it's for the best that he went quietly like he did. No names but he was in his late 70s. My grandma who was 84 passed as well this Christmas which was also overdue as she was suffering.
More will come, the one with pancreatic cancer, he knows, deep down that it will not be long. I hope the process is quick and not like it was for other patients shown on the show. It also made me question where the point is that treatment is only making the patient and the families suffer as their loved one's worry lines get deeper and their muscle mass disappears.
It's a tough watch but we do live in a world that avoids these thoughts, I believe doing so will only make it hurt 1,000 times more when death starts surrounding us and those we care about. I'd encourage people to watch it to prepare themselves for what they will inevitably have to deal with in their personal lives.
