If you’ve performed and heard the crowd sing your song back, how did it feel?

So I was listening to a very beautiful song, the melody was smooth and the lyrics were deep. But mid way through the song, the singer turns to his band and volumes them down to turn back around and volumes the audience up. So the band stops playing and the singer is listening to the crowd. AND THAT WAS FREAKING AWESOME gave me chills just listening to it. I think if I was a singer and I did that and people knew my song, it'd be heaven to my ears. And 100 % I'd cry right then and there. I would be moved so much. So, if you've ever played in front of a audience and did that? How did you feel? What was it like? I can only Image.

We never let them perform for us. We were there to perform for them. If they sang along, and, sometimes they did, a few times, we'd even let them up on the stage with us to sing with us but there was never a case of us turning down just to let them take over for a moment.
Another issue was that Bob would intentionally change the words from time to time so, they never knew exactly what was coming every time.
Having them sing along WAS great, especially with our original material but, as I said, they were the audience and THEY paid to see US!!

No not really. I mean it's not letting them perform for us kinda thing. It's like having them sing along and u just fade out and absorb it all up I don't know I think the crowd would feel like... they d probably feel more connected to the singer, feel closer. But that they would leave with a 'wow' instead of leaving like 'oh, ok, just another concert'. I mean it is THEM that makes YOU. u know? They're the ones the buy the tickets.
That's how I would feel. I mean that's how I think I would feel. But I actually don't know cuz I don't sing. So...
