Which century in Europe had better art?

If I had to choose one century in Europe for the greatest art overall, I’d choose the 16th century (1500s). That was the height of the High Renaissance, when artists reached an extraordinary balance of realism, beauty, emotion, and technical mastery.

I like gothic art. It looks like build of bones and skulls and painting look like covers of Cannibal Corpse albums.

For me it was the impressionists. So 19th century. 1800’s to early 1900’s.

I prefer the greater relative realism of the 1700s to the 1300s, though I give props to the works of the 1300s.

For pure innovation, the 20th century wins: Picasso, modernism, surrealism, abstraction, cinema, photography, design… it totally reshaped how we see art 🎨✨

But for beauty, craft, and drama, the Renaissance (15th–16th century) is unmatched: Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael, incredible churches and frescoes.

I’d say: Renaissance for classical perfection, 20th century for bold creativity. 💫

I think 1300s. They didn't have many role models, and it was really their turn to start in terms of creativity.
