I think Holywood relies too much on franchises and doesn't create anything new. Hail Marry was something new and made money but most recent movies were crap.

The truth is. Studios own licenses and those licenses have to generate money. That's why in lot of movies and games licenses cost more than production of content.

John Wick is surprisingly consistent, even with spin‑offs. Mission: Impossible has actually gotten better over time. Mad Max (especially Fury Road) kept its soul. Studio Ghibli’s catalog is safe because Hollywood can’t really touch it. Also, The Last of Us adaptation showed big IP can be handled with real care. 🎬✨
